I'm hoping you can help me. I've asked everyone I know for their advice and I'm getting mixed opinions.

I have known my female friend for around six or seven years. Only in the past two years have we actually become friends. I really like her a lot, but she has a boyfriend. She says that he's a jerk because he doesn't show compassion for her and treats her badly, and when I asked her why she didn't dump him, she said that she really didn't feel like arguing with him.

I want to tell her that I like her because the frustration of whether I should reveal my feelings or not has actually gotten to the point where I can't sleep. It's driving me insane. Every time something happens or something is said, it reminds me of her. I can't get her off my mind.

Should I tell her that I like her and risk her feeling awkward or should I keep it to myself and try to move on?

Here's a simple direct answer for a no-win situation: get a grip and move on. All the signs are heading in the direction of trouble and more pain. She seems to have a lot of baggage, baggage that I don't think you'd want to deal with. She has been dating someone who isn't treating her well and you are not a rescuer or a therapist. If you want to be, do so at the risk of your own heart. I recommend that you move on.
